Take a morning or an afternoon to enjoy a scenic exploration of Whidbey’s coastline. Like the kingfisher, this tour is quick yet vibrant. You’ll do some good paddling but will also take the time to glide close to shore for close-ups. You’ll delight in the marine wildlife while kayaking in the presence of evergreens with mountains in the distance. And you’ll still have plenty of the day to fit in a hike, shop at a farmer’s market, visit an art gallery or try a locally made libation.

Langley Loop

Launching from the charming South Whidbey Harbor in Langley – with its art, cafes, and shops – this is an easy way to get out on the water! Two hours from start to finish, the Langley Loop lets you enjoy the Pacific Northwest at its finest as you search for seals, crabs and eagles while enjoying panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains. As you explore the area, you’ll also learn about the coastal community of Langley and its past, present and future. The harbor is a cozy, sheltered area so you can start enjoying the boats right away.

The Captain’s Loop
Kayak Tour

This intimate kayak experience launches from the dock of the historic and charming Captain Whidbey Inn on Penn Cove.

2 Hours

• No Previous Experience Needed

Your guide will share the rich history, habitat and aquaculture of Penn Cove while you paddle along bluffs fringed with stately madrone trees and under the watchful eyes of herons and eagles. This journey is a great introduction to kayaking, with all equipment included and no experience necessary. Cap your adventure with a drink or meal at the restaurant of The Captain Whidbey, enjoying a front-seat view of the cove. Regarding physical mobility, when we prepare to leave, you will need to sit on the dock and then move into a seated position in the kayak.

Family Fun Loop
Kayak Tour

Perfect with families with children!

1.5 Hours
• No Previous Experience Needed
• Tandem Kayaks (2-person)
• Shared Tour

The slower pace of this tour is perfect for families with children. You’ll leave at 10:00 a.m. and wrap up in time for lunch before the wind and waves that sometimes pick up in the afternoon. We'll take it easy, leaving plenty of time for wildlife observation and paddling fun. We don’t have an age minimum, but our smallest life jacket fits a child who weighs at least 50 pounds (22.6 kg), which is usually a 5- or 6-year-old. Each child must paddle in a tandem kayak with an adult.
