Kayak Rentals
Whidbey Island can be a calm and relaxing place to paddle. However, strong winds and currents can come up quickly and change that peaceful paddle into a life threatening experience.
Off Site Rentals
In order to rent and take your kayak off site you must be competent and confident performing wet exits and self rescues. Typically paddlers gain these skills by taking a basic kayak safety course. If you don't have a certificate from a certified instructor, be prepared to demonstrate your skills.
Monitored Paddles
If you do not have self rescue skills and wish to rent we offer a monitored paddle area where you agree to stay in the designated free paddle area. Launching from the Langley Marina, this area is approximately 1 mile long. A leisurely paddle will take about an hour to complete. But of course you can stay out longer and enjoy just being on the water. This area is a prime Gray Whale watching sight in the spring. You can see harbor seals, Bald Eagles, or cormorants almost anytime.
Our rental fleet includes single kayaks from Point 65 and Tandem Beluga Kayaks from Easy Rider. We also have an out rigger and sail available for the tandem kayaks. For those who feel they need added assurance or for those who are physically challenged the addition of the outrigger adds much stability. While no kayak is completely un-tippable, this platform would require a highly unusual event to cause it to capsize.
Rates include kayak, paddle, PFD, sprayskirt and self rescue equipment.
